ICE East of England presents its Merit Awards every year to celebrate civil engineering in the region. The awards help give projects the recognition and prestige they deserve.

ICE East of England works to promote and celebrate the outstanding work of members. It organises awards to recognise exceptional projects, teamwork and individual excellence.

The ICE East of England Regional Board gives four awards to exceptional people who have shown extraordinary dedication and commitment to ICE at branch and regional level.
They are:
- Award for Merit: For outstanding service to civil engineering in representing East of England at any level. Proposed by Regional Executive Board
- Commendation for Distinguished Service: For outstanding service at regional level. Proposed by Regional Chair
- Commendation for Good Service: In recognition of good service in a committee role at branch level. Proposed by Branch Chair
- Commendation for Meritorious Conduct: For service of an exceptional nature - e.g. for conduct involving a high degree of courage, endurance, initiative, devotion to duty. Proposed by Regional Executive Board
