ICE East of England's various committees and panels bring together like-minded people and give members the opportunity to increase their knowledge, get advice, and raise the profile and standard of civil engineering.
The region is made up of the Regional Executive Board and Regional Branch Committees.
Committee members are volunteers and come from a range of backgrounds within the civil engineering profession.

The ICE East of England Regional Executive Board manages ICE affairs in the East of England.
The board is made up of the chairmen of the various branches, special interest groups, regional members of council, and representatives on national boards and panels. All members of the board are volunteers and are unpaid for their work with ICE. The chairman, honorary secretary and honorary treasurer are appointed at the East of England Region Annual General Meeting, which usually takes place in October.
It works in partnership with the Regional Support Team (RST), which is staffed by a regional director and regional coordinator.
TThe board, through its county branches and the RST, organises events for ICE members in the East of England.

Our Cambridgeshire branch represents around 650 ICE members. It arranges learned society events, which are usually held in Cambridge.

Essex is one of the largest of the six East of England branches, representing around 900 members. The committee organises most Essex Branch events and aims to meet bi-monthly in Chelmsford.
The branch's main aims include:

- Arranging visits to works of engineering interest
- Promoting, developing and expanding public perception of civil engineering and civil engineers
- Promoting civil engineering education in local communities, colleges and school.

It usually meets once a month in St Albans.
