About this event

Construction accounts for just 5% of employees in Britain but 31% of fatal injuries. Getting health and safety right is good not only for workers, but also for the bottom line. This course will show how pooling knowledge and working effectively as a team leads to better decision making, consistent health and safety focus and better project delivery.

Liz Bennett

Liz is past Chair of the ICE Health and Safety Board, is a founder Director of Safety in Design Ltd (SiD) and has been Visiting Fellow at Aston University and Visiting Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University. She holds the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction.

Liz also chairs the SiD Design Guides working group which develop freely available web based guidance for designers in the built environment. She has twice been short listed by Building Magazine and the HSE for outstanding personal contribution to construction health and safety and is regularly invited to speak at conferences and workshops on a wide range of risk management topics.
