About this workshop

This workshop series is aimed at technicians who hold accredited academic qualifications* (eg BTEC L3 or above) and have work experience in the civil engineering industry, who wish to apply for Technician Membership of the ICE and registration as Engineering Technician (EngTech MICE).
*Experienced technicians without academic qualifications may apply based on work experience alone.

It will cover the following topics:

  • The Standards required of an Engineering Technician
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • The application
  • What to expect in the Professional Review

The event will be run by Jenny Green, Membership Development Officer.

Programme: all workshops will take place at 143 Malone Road, Belfast, BT9 6SX from 10.00 to 12.00 on the following dates:
23/01/2019, 13/02/2019 and 06/03/2019.
You must be able to attend all of the sessions

Session 1 - 23 Jan 10:00 - 12:00

Topic

EngTech overview; understanding the application form; and preparation for the assessment questions.

Homework

Identify mentor and complete draft of questions.

Session 2 - 13 Feb 10:00 - 12:00

Discuss and feedback on draft answers; preparing your CPD records (DAP and PDR)

Homework

Completion of CV, Prepare DAP and PDR

Session 3 - 06 Mar 10:00 - 12:00
