About this event

McLaughlin and Harvey delivered the-award winning A82 Pulpit Rock Design and Build project in 2015. This complex project was undertaken in a highly constrained site with significant environmental constraints within Loch Lomond National Park. The scheme removed a bottleneck that had been in place on the A82 for over 30 years with the trunk road reduced to single lane operation under traffic lights.

The 400m long project consists of a 6 span 180m long propped cantilever viaduct with a 30m deep stabilised rock cut. The design was developed to allow construction works to proceed alongside the live road using 100 overnight closures of the road to carry out the works using complex temporary works. This methodology avoided a full 14 week closure of the A82 with a 60km diversion.

Please note that catering is from 17:30, with a lecture start at 18:15.
