This joint presentation by Transport Scotland and AECOM charts the improvements to the A82 at Pulpit Rock including the introduction of a 190m viaduct running parallel with Loch Lomond, widening of 200m of the existing carriageway to the north of the viaduct and the introduction of a two-lane carriageway from 2006 to recent completion.
The introduction of the new road has finally removed the need for ‘temporary’ traffic signals, which were a feature of the A82 for more than 30 years. Transport Scotland Project Manager Dominic Murphy and David Webster from AECOM will share their learning from the project lifecycle from its beginnings through route study, statutory process, procurement and construction including the challenges of working within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park area. This event is organised by the Glasgow West of Scotland (GWoS) Branch.
Dominic Murphy is a Project Manager with Transport Scotland and David Webster is Technical Director with AECOM, and Engineer for the Contract.
