The Aberdeen Association of Civil Engineers (AACE) are an associated society of the ICE. They act as Branch of ICE Scotland and provide lifelong learning and networking events for members in the North East. They also help inspire the next generation of engineers through volunteering in local schools.

Elaine is a structural engineer with Atkins, working in the offshore oil and gas industry having completed a Masters in Civil Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in 2012.
Elaine is passionate about promoting STEM to young people and is actively involved in the Aberdeen Association of Civil Engineers, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) and Girlguiding UK as a Brownie Leader. She believes that engaging with young people presenting the fun side of STEM subjects and encouraging them to believe in their ability can help to get them thinking about engineering as a career.
