About this event

London Waterloo is Britain's busiest station and a vital part of one of the most heavily used railways in the country, with passenger volumes of about 234 million a year.

The upgrade project – costing £800m – creates 30% more space, new signalling, new technology, longer platforms and the introduction of new rolling stock.

In a two-tier presentation Chris Loader, Project Head at Waterloo Station, will explain the complex and challenging upgrade. Following Chris, Spencer Hufton, Head of Training at Siemens Engineering will describe the new technology-laden Desiro 707 electric trains.

Attendance is free of charge but you are asked to register at www.theiet.org/surrey
