About this event

The presentation will introduce the new risk based coastal asset management system developed by Network Rail and JBA Consulting and currently in use by the Wales and Western Routes.

Network Rail Wales Route, in partnership with JBA Consulting, have recently developed a new coastal asset management system to assess the risks posed by coastal processes to the Network Rail portfolio of coastal, estuarine and river defence assets, and the rail track infrastructure that they protect. The system has been designed in accordance with best practice guidance, to provide a consequence based asset risk assessment, considering the physical condition of the asset in combination with the risk from coastal erosion, wave overtopping and still water level flooding. The presentation will cover the background to the development of the system and a demonstration of how the system works.
