Annual debate: Should the industry pay for my education? Leeds

About this event

The Debate is an annual event organised by the Graduates’ and Students' Committee, in which a panel looks at a key area for discussion. This topic is:

"This house believes that the construction and design industry should be investing in education of the next generation of engineers, primarily through paying for University and College course, and secondary through sponsoring students through their education”

A topic that is relevant not just in our industry, but others as well.

Should I pay for my education?
Who should pay for it?
Is £9,000 a year justified?
Is the industry in a position to fund?

Join us for an evening as we discuss this in some depth and look to uncover answers to the motion. Great way to gain some additional CPD in a different atmosphere.

The debate will be chaired by Sean Harris, Director of Membership ICE.

Panel will be made up of a cross section of the industry.

Prior to the debate, there be a 'Welcome to the Region' presentation from the incumbent Graduate and Student Co-Chairs of the region: Morwenna Parkin and Ahmed Al-Suleihi.

Welcome to gather from 17.30 for a 18.00 start

Organised by the ICE Yorkshire and Humber Graduates and Students' Committee.
