About this event

The £14.8bn Crossrail programme in London is the largest construction project in Europe. From start of construction in 2009 to 2014, Gordon Masterton served as the Government's Project Representative, providing oversight and assurance to both the Secretary of State for Transport and the Mayor of London.

The Lecture will describe the challenges of delivery, using Crossrail as the principal exemplar, but with reference to others, and will conclude by drawing out some personal views on the key factors for the successful delivery of complex multi-disciplinary programmes.

The 2016 Lead Institution is the Nottingham Society of Engineers.
