About this event

Arcadis UK GIS lead, Matt Leaver will present on the benefits of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for geotechnical design projects. Matt will give an overview of what GIS is and how it can be applied on engineering design schemes to improve our understanding of scheme geometry and geology and generate cost and programme efficiencies through analytics, computational design and integration with BIM.

Matt Leaver

Matt Leaver

Matthew leads the GIS centre of excellence in the UK, this includes providing support and training to project staff and organisations to help ensure the best use of geographic information.

He has 15 years of GIS and data management experience across a range of sectors. He is a Chartered Geographer (GIS) and member of the AGI committee for asset management. Matthew is the Arcadis BIM lead for data and Global GIS community lead.

He has designed and built GIS systems and processes for the management of land and property data across multiple sectors including highways, flood risk and environment. Matthew has extensive experience of GIS database management, enterprise GIS, data analytics and digital cartography, which allows him to deploy efficient, secure and robust GIS approaches to land referencing project delivery.
