About this event

New flexible robotic surgical systems could enable more flexible movement and reach during operations. Research at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) shows that these new systems will eventually replace more rigid instruments which severely restrict the areas they can reach during operations.

The speaker is Professor Kaspar Althoefer from QMUL and he will outline the challenges emerging when departing from traditionally rigid instruments and progressing towards more flexible and controllable surgical tools.
