The second ICE Bridges conference will explore methods to manage, maintain and upgrade ageing assets, examine innovative techniques and materials and focus on inspirational design and construction projects.

The programme will update delegates on new bridges shaping the UK’s modern infrastructure, whilst also showcasing global projects demonstrating best practice that can be applied at home. Speakers will discuss the challenge of managing infrastructure with minimal disruption, and the use of new technology to solve traditional problems.

Experts will present on the future of inspection and maintenance, resilience and capacity, promoting the delivery of safety, value for money and reliability. Design specialists will explore the application and experience of using Eurocodes, unique expression, and their visions of bridges as icons, showcasing technology and advances in structural engineering.

The UK's infrastructure pipeline - with projects like HS2 and the Thames Garden Bridge - offers lessons and demonstrates the potential for this historic engineering specialty in supporting regeneration and economic growth.
