About this event

We look forward to welcoming you to our Cheltenham & Gloucester City Club meeting. The Council Chamber is accessed from the rear of the main Shire Hall building, off the Councillors Car Park in Bearland. Go up the steps to the double doors. These will be open from 6pm.

Julie Snell, CEO of Bristol is Open, will cover some of the background that makes up the challenges that Bristol faces. The synergies that means so many of these challenges are replicated across cities throughout the UK and the world. She will give some examples of the projects that Bristol has undertaken to address the changes needed.

As CEO of Bristol is Open Julie is driving innovation that improves the quality of people’s lives.

She has a wealth of business expertise including the start-up of BT’s public WiFi network. Julie was BT’s Board member / Chair of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA).

Julie was instrumental in driving the strategic vision to establish public Wi-Fi governance in the legal / technology / billing and customer experience areas globally.

In 2019 Julie’s work was recognised as one of the UK’s top Smart City leaders achieving the High Commended award.
