Bristol’s race to the sky – A Panel Discussion about Tall Buildings, Bristol

About this event

The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) would like to invite you to an panel discussion on Bristol’s approach to tall buildings

This event is FREE and open to all, including the general public.

Sandwiches and refreshments are available from 18:00 with the talk commencing at 18:30.

Tall buildings around the world are becoming increasingly tall and slender.

There’s plenty to shout about in Bristol, with our tallest building being St Mary Redcliffe with its spire measuring 89m in height, and several residential towers in the pipeline that will reach almost 100m tall. But is the race to the sky the right approach for Bristol? What considerations are needed within the built environment to ensure tall buildings can play a positive role in the city’s future?

Join us and a panel of industry experts in a debate about the implications of tall buildings covering themes such as design, economics, social and sustainability.
