This webinar will focus on a study, carried out by Inros Lackner SE (Bremen), which investigated the carbon footprint of various quay wall structures. The carbon footprint was analysed using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, including the life cycle stages of ‘materials production‘,’materials transport‘and ’construction’. The speaker, Kai-Julian Hendler, will also discuss the main contributors to the carbon emissions and explain the opportunities for carbon reduction.

Kai-Julian was born in South Africa. Between his bachelor and master’s degree, he spent three years working as a site engineer on various marine construction projects in South Africa, Guinea (Conakry) and Australia. Since November 2020 he has been working as a geotechnical consulting engineer at Boley Geotechnik in Munich, Germany.
