About this event

The revisions to CDM which came into force on 6 April 2015 carried over many of the key aspects of previous versions. However there were also some fundamental changes, including a revised hierarchy of duty-holders and full inclusion of domestic projects. Organisations were given six months to become compliant with the new regulations. But there was ambiguity over some issues, and by the date of full implementation it was reported that some parts of the industry were still not fully prepared. This event will look back at the last eighteen months and share experience of how implementation of the new regulations has developed in practice.

The speaker will be Jo Pinder CMIOSH MIIRSM IMaPS, an Associate Director with AECOM, responsible for delivering H&S, including CDM advisory services, across the South East. She has almost twenty years’ experience of advising organisations on health and safety, in both the public and private sectors, and has delivered the role of a CDM Coordinator (formerly Planning Supervisor) for the last eight years. She delivers training courses to management and staff, and has developed and assisted in the implementation of a wide variety of safety management systems, including contractor and designer competence assessment, construction site inspections and construction management audits.

The event is free, and will be held in the Lord Ashcroft Building at Anglia Ruskin University, Bishop Hall Lane, Chelmsford CM1 1SQ. This is a ten minute walk from Chelmsford railway station. Visitor parking is available on campus from 4.30pm. Refreshments will be served from 6.00pm and the lecture will start at 6.30pm.
