About this event

Richard will talk about Health and Safety and in particular how CDM and BIM relate, he will go on to speculate on how HSE will enforce and lastly on how the new sentencing guidelines (SGC) are designed to increase H&S fines using the recent Baldwin's case.

Richard will illustrate his talk from a number of cases he has been involved with.

Richard Voke

Richard is a Solicitor. He is a Partner and Head of Business Risk and Regulation at Ashford Solicitors. He is also a co-director of Safety in Design, a consultancy based in the South West.

He regularly provides strategic advice to board level and senior management to a number of major companies. He also has experience of defending prosecutions against the Health and Safety Executive and advising on post accident investigations.

Early in his career Richard spent almost 10 years with the Health and Safety Executive as an Inspector in the Major Hazards Group.
