About this event

Professor Andrew McNaughton, Technical Director of HS2 Ltd, started his career as British Rail trainee and is now the senior engineer on the largest new rail project in Britain. He will provide an update on the project and the priorities at this stage in its development as well as reflecting on his career as a railway civil engineer.

To be followed by a drinks reception including mince pies in the ICE Bar.

Andrew McNaughton

Andrew McNaughton was appointed Technical Director at High Speed Two Limited in February 2012, following 2 years as Chief Engineer.

Andrew is also:

  • Special Professor of Rail Engineering at Nottingham University
  • A Visiting Professor of Engineering at both Imperial College London and Southampton University
  • Vice Chair of the EU Transport Advisory Group
  • Chair of the European Rail Research Advisory Council
  • Special Advisor on rail to the Australian Government

He was previously Chief Engineer at Network Rail.
