Enabling of Low Embodied Carbon Constructions by using CIC Carbon Assessment Tool (CAT), webinar

About this event

Please note that this webinar will be held from 19:00 – 20:30 HK time.

The built environment currently produces 33% of global energy consumption and near 40% of greenhouse gas emission, and about 50% of the embodied carbon of a building comes from its structure. Engineers can play an important role in promoting low carbon performance in buildings and infrastructure.

The development of the Carbon Assessment Tool (CAT) by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) aims to promote awareness of the significance of embodied carbon in the built environment, reporting carbon during design, construction and procurement stages. It is designed to assist essential stakeholders in estimating and managing embodied carbon footprint of their projects from an early stage and enable them to compare different design and construction solutions to achieve carbon emission reduction and green building certificates schemes such as BEAM Plus in Hong Kong.

In this webinar jointly organised by ICE HKA and Construction Industry Council, live demonstration of CIC Carbon Assessment Tool and associated case studies will be broadcasted.

  • Registration will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis and priority will be given to ICE Members.
  • Only successful applicants will receive a confirmation e-mail.
