This is the 2nd of three sessions on the role we can all play around Climate Change and working towards Net Zero, from 2021 – 2030 (the climate decade) and beyond to the global goal of net zero by 2050.
Delivery of Net Zero is a business-wide responsibility, and with 40% of all UK emissions linked to construction, we all need to make it our business to meet the net zero challenge.

Kevin Smith (Angus Council) and Dr Rebecca Wade (Abertay University) will host a panel of industry speakers who will share their corporate commitment to #NetZero. You will also hear about what is already happening within the industry in Scotland, and beyond.

In these webinars we will keep asking you the question posed by ICE President Rachel Skinner – What Are YOU Going To Do?

Join us to get informed and be inspired as we spell out some industry plans for ‘shaping zero’.

Look out for follow up and final event on 28 April.

You can join the event up to 10 minutes before the start time of 12.00

Speakers

Rebecca Wade

Rebecca is based at Abertay University, she is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science and teaches on the Civil & Environmental Engineering degree programme. She believes that by collaborating across disciplines, sectors, industry, and policy we can deliver multiple benefits, collectively addressing the climate emergency, the biodiversity crisis, and the need to create healthier communities for future generations.

Kevin Smith

Kevin is Chair of the Tayside and Fife ICE Branch. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer based at Angus Council, where he leads the Roads Operations Team. He is a NEC4 Accredited Project Manager, a STEM Ambassador, and an ICE Mentor. He is rapidly getting up to speed on Climate Change issues, the Net Zero challenge, and the importance of the COP26 Climate conference in Scotland this year – and he wants other ICE members to do this too.

Rebecca and Kevin will host guest speakers from industry who are making a local and national commitment to reaching net zero.
