About this event

The eighth event in the ICE Coastal Management conference series will happen in September 2015 in the Netherlands.

ICE's Coastal Management conferences are recognised for their focus on current issues, research and practical application. They are a notable forum for forthright discussion, highlighting advances and solutions as well as identifying key areas of discussion.

The call for papers attracted a record number of submissions from over 30 countries. The programme is now available, with around 80 papers covering key international coastal projects offering practical learning, innovative and integrated solutions, and encouraging new ways of understanding and managing our coasts.

Topics covered:

  • Innovative coastal planning, design and management
  • Social, environmental and climatic change including coastal erosion, flooding, tsunami
  • Coastal defence including dikes, dams and floodgates
  • Shoreline management
  • Coastal policy – legislation, targets and future changes
  • Funding and accountability – investment, opportunities and growth
