About this event

The presentation will look at how the City has executed its responsibilities as part of the "whole-of-Games" program, key learnings & challenges that have progressively been addressed, as well as the legacy that the program has left the City's transport system and how the experience gained on the project can be passed on.


Matthew Tilly

Matthew has been working in the transport & traffic field for 19 years, with tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (Transportation), Regional & Town Planning and Project Management. Prior to commencing work with the City of Gold Coast in 2012, Matthew worked throughout South East Queensland, the United Kingdom and Ireland for public and private sector organisations.

In recent times, Matthew has overseen delivery of Gold Coast Rapid Transit Stage 1, as well as the City's GC2018 transport program. He has been Manager of Transport & Traffic since 2016 and has an amazing team of around 200 staff. He is Dad to two amazing kids, with whom he enjoys the wonderful Gold Coast lifestyle.
