Cornwall's Environmental Growth strategy 2015-2065

About this event

The Environmental Growth Strategy for Cornwall was adopted in December 2016, created in partnership by the Cornwall and the Isle Of Scilly Local Nature Partnership and Cornwall Council. This session will explain the background and meaning of the environmental growth, who is already involved in its delivery and how civil engineers have a critical role in bringing the strategy into reality.

There will be a presentation, and short workshop/discussion session.

Rachael Bice BLE, MA, MSc. Head of Environmental Growth and Partnerships for Cornwall Council.

Rachael has worked with the environment sector in Cornwall for more than a decade, since 2012, to establish the Local Nature Partnership, develop the Environmental Growth Strategy and lead on a number of change programmes for Cornwall, including the Devolution Deal on Flooding and Coastal Defence and Heritage. She leads the Environmental Growth and Partnerships team within the Council that consider management of the past, present and future environment of Cornwall from different perspectives.

Outside of work hours, Rachael is a Trustee of ‘First Light’ and the ‘Natural Change Foundation’; and she can often be found outdoors, camping, walking, swimming and more recently free diving or attempting to be creative!
