Crossrail – the Elizabeth line, Reading

About this event

With the Elizabeth line due to open in December 2018, our speaker, Sir Terry Morgan CBE, will discuss the Crossrail project's construction of the new railway for London – the engineering feats and challenges, the design of the new railway and how it will change the way that millions of people travel around the capital every day.

Terry will also discuss Crossrail's broader benefits, including the skills programme, the regeneration and development taking place around Elizabeth line stations and the significant boost that the project will provide to tens of thousands of businesses around the UK.

Terry will also talk about how Crossrail is passing on what it has learnt to the next generation of major infrastructure projects and how it is helping to increase the export capability of the UK's ever growing infrastructure delivery expertise.

Sir Terry Morgan CBE took over the role of Chairman of Crossrail in 2009. He is Chairman of Ricardo plc and in February 2017 was appointed Chairman of London City Airport and more recently has taken on the role of Chair of Crossrail International. In addition he is a member of the HS2 Growth Delivery Board. Terry has led a skills review for the transport sector in support of the Government's commitment to 30,000 apprentices by 2020.
