Come along to this debate with our guest speaker Mark Philpotts (a.k.a. The Ranty Highwayman) CEng MICE FCIHT FIHE PIEMA MTPS. With nearly 25 years of experience in infrastructure and highways, Mark will discuss some thought-provoking topics. With questions like; why can it be so hard to try out new ideas? How do we - and should we - balance the risks of trying new ideas? And how are designers held accountable?
Who is it for? Any engineering professional. (You don’t need to be a member of ICE to come).
Everyone from Directors to Apprentices have something to add to the debate and gain from it.
Why attend this workshop? Perhaps these two simple questions will interest you:
1. Do the CDM regulations cover the operational part of a project e.g. a road when it's being used by the public?
2. How is a designer held accountable then? I.e. under what law(s) can a designer be held liable?
