Adrian Coy

Adrian is Local Authority Strategy Director with AECOM, providing advice to local authorities and strategic input to infrastructure tenders. His knowledge of public sector clients is born from 28 years' experience in local government, the last 10 years of which was as a senior manager.

Since 2007 Adrian has played a key role in shaping a successful and progressive relationship with the Midland Highways Alliance through which AECOM delivers highways related professional services to some 19 local authority clients. Adrian has spoken to a range of audiences and had papers and articles published on a variety of topics.

Throughout his career Adrian has been active within the ICE at branch, region and national levels. In 2009 he received the Garth Watson Medal for his services to the Institution, and in 2016 he received the William Kemp Award for his outstanding contribution to the profession in the East Midlands. He has served on Council, the Executive Board and a number of Committees, Panels and Steering Groups.

Adrian is currently Vice-President Membership and Diversity, leading initiatives to broaden membership and encourage diversity. He is also responsible for strategies for inspiring young people to join the profession;, and for encouraging life-long learning and professional development.

Most recently Adrian led the development of an influential ICE thought-leadership State of the Nation report on Devolution and Infrastructure.
