ICE’s State of the Nation 2017: Digital Transformation report

About this event

Peter McColl, Head of Policy for Scotland at NESTA (National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts); Kelly Forbes, ICE Scotland Policy Manager; and Alfredo Sobrino, Project Director (Ferrovial Lagan JV), Raith Interchange - M8/M73/M74 Motorway Improvements Project, will explore the role of digital transformation in the creation of better places for people.

As people, infrastructure and cities become more connected and interdependent, opportunities arise to create better user outcomes over the lifetime of our physical assets. However, with technology rapidly changing, new security challenges, and changing public expectations, balancing the risks and opportunities becomes more challenging.

Furthermore, skills and knowledge requirements are changing for everyone involved in the commissioning, design, maintenance and operation of our built environment. Getting these issues right now can help to realise better outcomes for clients, operators, and the ultimate customer – the infrastructure user.

Registration and refreshments from 5.30pm for 6.15pm start. There will be a short Q&A at the end of the session, and there will be a live video webcast of the event.
