Dolgarrog Pipeline Renewal 2013
Dolgarrog Pipeline Renewal 2013

About this event

The original Dolgarrog hydro-electric production infrastructure lies over 56km2 of the Snowdonia Mountains and dates from 1907 with major improvements in 1924, 1938, 1955 and most recently in 2013.

The two pipelines are 6' diameter with one 2km long and the other 6km traversing varied hillside terrain with poor access. This talk will describe the history of what was there originally, what is there now and some of the reasons for the design and installation choices that have been made recently.
