Early contractor involvement, webinar

About this event

The preparation of large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects very often requires an astonishing amount of time, money and human resources and is, for the most part, not experienced as a very cost-effective part of the process relative to the value of the final asset to be constructed.

Mainstream procurement strategies, in which contractors are only being involved after many key decisions have already been taken, often contribute to this inefficiency. It is not uncommon that clients and consultants need to make design decisions based on limited and imperfect information, applying less than optimal knowledge on available technologies, equipment and innovative options. Contractors are then forced to become reactive instead of proactive within a process.

Early contractor involvement (ECI) offers benefits to designing and planning of infrastructure projects in a cost-effective, more efficient and less confrontational structure.

In this webinar, Brecht Verbrugge, Senior Project Manager at the DEME Group, will provide a brief outline of the ECI principles to conclude with some key takeaways and recommendations based on his personal experiences.
