Please come along and visit the earthquake room in the latest extension to the University of Bristol. We will be opening up the Café space and the earthquake lab to entertain and amaze the public about what Civil engineering is and what the University does in the seismic lab to test building safe in an earthquake event.
In the Café there will be an earthquake resistant tower building activity for all ages, where we will use a table top earthquake simulator to test them till breaking point. In addition, guided tours of the earthquake lab will also be taking place. Please note that tours of the earthquake lab are at 11:00, 12.00, 13.30 and 14.30.
This event is FREE and open to all. This is a drop in session and we would love to see you there. We also encourage any parents to bring along their children to get them exciting about engineering and understand how we test buildings for earthquakes.
