The Emerging Engineers Award promotes and rewards outstanding communication of civil engineering ideas and research. It offers all ICE student, graduate and trainee technician members the opportunity to submit a paper on any civil engineering related topic in the format of research, a report or an essay.
Having received the entries, the judges have selected the following competitors to further develop their essay and present their papers at the South Branch finals:

'Temporary Sealing of A Caisson Lock: Facilities Management Case Study'

The Dr Mike Cooper Memorial Award will be presented to the winning submission along with £150 prize money, with a further £75 and £25 awarded for second and third places respectively. The prize fund has been generously donated on Mike's behalf by his family, friends and colleagues.
The branch winner will be considered for the 2018 Emerging Engineers Global Final, where the prestigious Institution Medal and further cash prizes can be won.
