Emerging Engineers Award final 2017, London

About this event

This competition is held every year to promote and reward excellent communication of civil engineering issues and ideas.

The four top finalists from the regional heats will present their papers to the audience and judging panel.

This year's presentations will be:

  • Robin de Jongh (East Midlands) – How to lift a building with your bare hands
  • Harriette Stone (London) – Using omnidirectional cameras and UAVs to asses structural damage after large earthquakes
  • Jasmine Tombs (South West) – Evacuated tube transport, the future of goods transportation?
  • Sumesh Sankar (Bahrain) – Feasibility studies of geopolymer concrete for structural applications

The winner will receive the Institution Medal and a cash prize.

All are welcome to attend. Refreshments available from 5.30 for a 6pm start.

The room may be subject to change – please check sign boards when you arrival at One Great George Street.
