About this event

The Emerging Engineers Award (EEA) promotes and rewards excellence in the communication of civil engineering ideas, innovation, research and best practice.

Papers submitted by ICE Graduate and Student members within the Wales Region will be reviewed by the Judging Panel. At the Wales Regional Final, the top entries will present their papers to contest for prizes, prestige and to be shortlisted for the EEA Global Final at the ICE's Headquarters in London.

The varied line-up comprises:

  • Louise Sørensen-Bentham – Proposed design and operation for the re-opening of the Swansea-Mumbles Railway
  • Nick Edwards – Tomorrow's Airport: A new way of dealing with increased passenger numbers at an airport
  • Zachary Cieslik – Understanding the construction life cycle of expanded polystyrene (EPS) as a replacement fill on Kier's Windsor Road project, Cardiff

Each presentation will be followed by question and answer sessions when audience members are encouraged to participate.
