Graduate and student members from across Scotland will present engineering design, research or practice papers on a wide range of topics. You can look forward to fascinating presentations and Q&A with the Award entrants and gain valuable learning from the Judging Panel's insights. Entrants are competing for a cash prize of £250 and the chance to go forward to regional and UK and ultimately international finals for additional prize money as well as the prestigious Institution Medal for the overall winner.
Entering the Awards provides young engineers with a great opportunity to practice writing up and presenting their research – perfect preparation for a viva or Professional Review. It also raises profile, and helps promote the entrant's university or employer while giving them an opportunity to have their paper published.
Graduate members (GMICE) can adapt papers from professional development or Professional Review reports. Student members can adapt a university project or thesis which should be based on their own work.
