There are an increasing number of sites previously used for mineral extraction such as quarrying or open cast coal mining. The void left behind has either been filled previously or needs to be filled for the purposes of residential development.

This presentation describes NHBC requirements for engineering the placement of fill to create a development platform suitable for residential development. Some examples of what can go wrong will also be shown.
