The Filton Bank four-tracking project is doubling the number of railway lines between Bristol Temple Meads and Filton Abbey Wood to enable an increase in trains from 2019.
From 27 October 2018 to 19 November 2018 Network Rail will be working 24 hours a day to install the new track and signals. In anticipation of these works, a huge amount of enabling work is being carried out along the Filton Bank to prepare the existing infrastructure.
This presentation will look at the history behind this project, why it is important to the local area and national transport picture and some of the challenges involved in designing and delivering the enabling work on site to date.
This event is FREE and open to all (including the general public)
Sandwiches and refreshments are available from 18:00 with the talk commencing at 18:30.
Rob Buckby is the Designated Project Engineer and Matt Hargreaves is the Senior Project Manager for the Filton Bank Four Track Project.
