About this event

Michael T. Adams of the Environment Agency will be presenting some flood defence schemes across the Rea catchment around Birmingham and displaying interactive tools that were used to attract third party investment from the private sector.

John Parkin of AECOM will also discuss the challenges, constraints and opportunities for a strategic mixed use development site.

AECOM were tasked with quantifying flood risk for a site affected by Ordinary Watercourses, and develop zones suitable for development outside flood extent. Various constraints were considered to achieve a balance between effective flood risk management options and the ability to deliver the required number of housing units to make the development viable.
