The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS)

About this event

The Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS) project – now known as the Great Yorkshire Way – is to provide a new highway link from the M18 Junction 3 to Doncaster Sheffield Airport with links into Rossington and the iPort development.

Phase One of the Great Yorkshire Way opened to traffic on 29th February 2016 and has reduced congestion and journey times for vehicles travelling to South Doncaster and the new developments at Rossington Colliery.

Phase Two of the scheme is currently at the planning stage and will complete the link from the M18 to Doncaster Sheffield Airport – bringing an extra million potential passengers to within a 60 minute drive of the airport.

Nigel Morley and Sue Tilbrook from Mott MacDonald will give an insight into the need for the scheme, describe the partnership that came together to deliver it and describe some of the complexities that have been overcome along the way.
