The evening will be packed with news, ceremony, technical interest and leadership experiences presented by experts passionate about the water environment. Our Keynote address will be given by Lisa Pinney MBE who will reflect on her experiences of major incidence response, the challenges and opportunities for the environment from our mining heritage and her championing of inclusiveness across our sectors.
We also look forward to hearing from Angela Gray about her year as CIWEM's President and from David Wickens who will become CIWEM's 32nd President of the Institution. David has long been committed to West Midlands Branch activities and we wish him well in his year of office.
CIWEM is pleased to share the event with ICE to bring Lisa's speech to the widest possible audience. 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Institution of Civil Engineers. To celebrate, ICE is running a year of events and activities that show how civil engineering has for over 200 years transformed the way we live. As well as highlighting the exciting range of careers that civil engineering offers, Seán Harris, ICE Director of Membership will outline some of the upcoming events and promote the Global Engineering Congress taking place in October.
