Frome Valley Relief Sewer Phase 3 - Improvement programme, Bath

About this event

The first sections of the Frome Valley relief sewer were laid in the 1980s and 1990s. The next phase is to construct a 5km long, 1.8m diameter sewer pipe that will divert waste water flows from South Gloucestershire to Bristol sewage treatment works via a route around the north of Bristol, rather than alongside the Frome Valley and through the centre of Bristol.

The multi-million pound project started in March 2017 and will take up to two years to complete.

This scheme is closely linked to the Trym Tunnel and upon completion will relieve capacity of the sewer network in and around Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
