About this event

The proposed George Massey Tunnel Replacement Project will replace the existing 1950s Tunnel with a 10-lane bridge together with associated highway and bus transit improvements along a 25 km corridor. At an estimated total project cost of $3.5 billion, construction is anticipated to commence in 2017 and be substantially complete by 2022.

Mr. Edward Green (Senior Project Manager overseeing the concept design development and construction cost estimate for the project) will provide an engineer's overview and discuss planning, management and design features of this important project.

Edward Green

Mr Green has been working in the heavy civil construction environment for the last 17 years and is currently a Senior Project Manager with Charter Project Delivery in Vancouver. He has extensive experience in project and design management, cost estimating, problem solving, constructability analysis and scheduling.

Mr Green started his career in the United Kingdom before working internationally in the United Arab Emirates and then in Canada from 2010. During his career, Mr Green has taken the design and construction management lead on many large infrastructure tenders including multi-billion dollar public-private-partnership infrastructure proposals and has been responsibility for the construction project management of civil engineering projects up to $400 million in magnitude including, bridges, tunnels, highways and airports.
