Graduates and students technical seminar on BIM application and challenges, Hong Kong

About this event

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of infrastructures and buildings. BIM facilitates the planning, design, construction, and communication of a project. The technology has, therefore, been widely applied in the construction industry. In this seminar, the application of BIM specifically in railways project will be shared with the example of 810A MTR project. The professional practice, considerations and challenges encountered will be highlighted.

ICE HKA G&S is honoured to invite Mr Mathieu Bessodes, Engineering Manager of Gammon Construction Limited at Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (Contract No. 810A MTR-XRL) West Kowloon Terminus Construction Project, to present the professional practice and challenges encountered upon applying BIM in the project. The project is challenging not only in terms of the massive scale and complexity, but also the identification of spatial clashes and construction coordination issues. This seminar will also address the lessons learnt from the West Kowloon Terminus Construction Project and the implication of the technological advancement in BIM application on fostering civil engineering project management in Hong Kong.
