Health and Safety Workshop: Effective Project Management under CDM 2015, London

About this event

Accidents happening on site are very often due to the fact that the team is not properly selected and project-managed, as well as because of a lack of clarity on how CDM 2015 principles should be applied.

The organisation, as well as the individual(s) responsible for forming and managing the project team should have a very good knowledge of the legislation and the methodologies around Health and Safety, to minimise the risk of accidents and potentially avoid costly litigation procedures.

ICE’s workshop on effective project management under CDM 2015 will be interactive, with collaborative exercises. The audience will be split into working groups, putting everyone in the mind frame of a project team and how each individual’s decisions can affect others and the project as a whole.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the principles of CDM in relation to accident, including health and safety in design and how this affects work during construction, use, maintenance and eventual demolition
  • Be clear on the links between CDM and current UK health and safety legislation (including risk assessment and the general principles of prevention)
  • Recognise the links between CDM and accepted project management principles
  • Understand the importance of collaborative working and how this is critical in minimising the risk of accidents
