Since its opening in 1998, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has grown to become one of the busiest airports in the world. In 2017, the airport served 72.9 million passengers, handled 5.05 million tonnes of cargo and accommodated 420,000 air traffic movements. With more than 100 airlines connecting to approximately 220 destinations worldwide, HKIA is a leading international and regional aviation hub that helps maintain Hong Kong's status as "Asia's World City". The expansion of HKIA into a Three-Runway System is the single largest development planned for the Airport since its opening in 1998, and the scale of the works is not dissimilar to the construction of HKIA at Chek Lap Kok.
The topic of the technical seminar will be "Hong Kong International Airport expansion". Mr Kevin Poole will give an update on the latest status on the Three Runway System Project.
- Snack and beverage will be served during breaks.
- Registration will be confirmed on first-come-first-served basis, and priority will be given to ICE graduate and student members.
- Only successful applicants will receive confirmation e-mails.
