About this event

Speaker Andrew Coombes is Head of Specification and Assurance for HS2 Ltd is responsible for the definition and validation of the proposed HS2 rail network. This includes addressing the construction, service capability and asset management requirements of the network. Andrew will give a summary of the time scales and objectives of the proposed high speed network. He will also outline the first phase running from London to Birmingham with connections on to Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow. Andrew will also outline the phase two proposal covering the improved connectivity, increased capacity and potential reduced journey times. This phase provides the two arms of the 'Y' which serve Manchester and Leeds directly and is fundamental to the proposed high speed network.
