ICE 200 Distinguished Lecture 2018: Civil Engineers Protect and Transform Lives - Professionalism, Passion & Preparedness, Hong Kong

About this event

The focus of ICE 200 is clear - whilst celebrating the past 200 years of the Institution of Civil Engineers, we inspire the next 200, and help create the future. The human history in the past 200 years reminded us of the effect of extreme weather and natural disasters, many of which brought not only threats, but actual adverse impact to the human-race and devastating damages to the built environment. The mission of the civil engineers is clear – to protect and transform the lives of the general-public.

This finale lecture of the ICE 200 Distinguished Lecture series brings together Professor CK MAK, ICE Vice President International and three progressive engineers to share their local and overseas experience on how they, and other civil engineers, have contributed to fulfilling the ICE mission.

Professor Ian Holliday, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong is the Guest of Honour and will give the Opening Remark.
