CDM 2015 sets out a new framework for managing health and safety risk throughout the life of a project.  The new regulations seek to raise health and safety performance of the whole construction industry through several fundamental changes including:

  • Simplifying the structure
  • Broadening coordination duties to a broader range of projects
  • Placing clients at the heart of delivering a safe and healthy project
  • Creating a new Principal Designer role to lead a more effective pre-construction phase
  • Simplifying designer’s duties

Guests will hear from three excellent speakers, and will then be invited to question and debate the arising issues, initially in the lecture theatre and then continue the discussion over drinks.

Last year's overbooked lecture was one of the highlights of the ICE lecture calendar. This year, our speakers will reflect on CDM 2015 from their own perspective as client, designer or contractor, focussing on how they, and others are responding.

Speakers:

  • Karl Simons, Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing at Thames Water
  • Laura Hague, Group Safety Manager for Mott MacDonald
  • Gavin Bye, Safety Health & Environment Director – Infrastructure at Costain, and formerly Head of HSE’s Construction Sector and Policy Unit
