This talk will look at the challenges that have faced Engineers building record beating bridges over the last 200 years.

Speaker

Richard Cooke is an independent consultant with 4 decades of experience in the design, construction and maintenance of bridges across the UK and internationally. Over the last ten years he has been involved in some notable long-span bridges, which include implementing the 4th longest bridge span built to date and checking the new Queensferry Crossing in Scotland. This talk looks at the challenges that have faced engineers building record beating bridges over the last 200 years.
